The International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS) has grown to now have 58 national affiliate members and 1752 individual fellows who have an enormous impact on education to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and in the delivery of quality oral and maxillofacial surgical care around the world.
Through the years as the scope, education, and qualifications of the Fellowship broadened, the name was changed to accommodate these widened interests to the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS).
The International Journal of Oral Surgery (IJOS) which began in 1972 changed its name to the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (IJOMS)
