The IAOMS Foundation Orthognathic and TMJ Fellowship is an exclusive, immersive, and career-defining experience designed to provide elite training in orthognathic and TMJ surgery. This highly competitive six-month program offers fellows the chance to refine their skills, work alongside renowned surgical mentors, and train in cutting-edge surgical techniques at one of the world’s leading institutions.
Fellows will engage in high-volume, high-complexity surgical cases under expert guidance at Bahçesehir University School of Dental Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. The program offers two annual cohorts:

This fellowship is designed for highly motivated oral and maxillofacial surgeons who meet the following criteria:
A Letter of Privileges certifies that you were a trainee or post-graduate trainee in a specifically-named department. The letter should come from your professor or department head and outline the specific privileges you enjoyed while in their program (i.e. types of surgery, diagnosis, how often, etc.)
Upon successfully uploading the on-line application and your supporting materials, you will receive an automatic confirmation that your application has been submitted. Following a brief review of your materials, you will receive a confirmation e-mail notifying you that your application is eligible for review.

The IAOMS Foundation Fellowship Program offers exclusive fellowship opportunities in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This prestigious program offers a unique, one-of-a-kind educational experience that will significantly advance your expertise.
Fellowship Details
There are four fellowships available:
Two (2) Cleft Lip and Palate & Craniofacial Surgery Fellowships (12 months)
Locations: GSR Institute in Hyderabad, India, and Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital in Bangalore, India.
Two (2) Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction Fellowships (12 months)
Locations: Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology in Beijing, China, and Ninth People’s Hospital in Shanghai, China.

Fellowships Duration: September 2026 – August 2027
Fellowship Committee will determine the fellowship location for each recipient.

Through the Visiting Scholars Program, the IAOMS Foundation provides the opportunity for IAOMS members to travel to other countries and visit, for short periods, prestigious OMS departments to enhance their postgraduate education by observing and studying with top surgeons and professors.

The Gift of Knowledge Program offers customized training throughout the world. IAOMS leaders volunteer their time to design, promote and implement comprehensive educational sessions, particularly in high need areas. For information on upcoming program locations, please contact Caryn Adolph.
We have presented trainings in 16 countries:
The Regional Partners Program funds educational and scholarship opportunities in collaboration with regional and national OMF associations.
Every year the Calgary section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery accepts one surgical fellow in advanced training in orthognathic surgery. This year long fellowship will provide candidates with the necessary knowledge for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with congenital and acquired dentofacial deformities and maxillofacial disorders.
This program aims to create an evidence-based hands-on learning environment related to oral maxillofacial surgical care. The fellow will gain extensive surgical experience in correction of dentofacial deformities, maxillofacial pathology, and temporomandibular joint disorders. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in about 250 orthognathic surgeries with our teaching faculty per year, with a significant volume of reconstruction, total joint replacement, and full arch implant rehabilitation. Salary expectations >100k per year.
With close proximity to the Rocky Mountains, there are many opportunities for skiing, hiking and exploring world famous Banff National Park.
